i’ve been taking photos ever since i was 13 years old. \u00a0some images i remember, and some images i forget. \u00a0some are magic, some aren’t. \u00a0but it’s those magic moments i capture that speak a thousand words. \u00a0take this one for example…\"\"30mph onshore winds. \u00a0super dark gloomy morning. \u00a0nobody in the parking lot, and of course nobody out in the ocean. \u00a0days like this, nobody even wants to get out of bed. \u00a0when you look into the ocean, you will see all white water. \u00a0that’s the hundreds of waves per minute being pushed in by the stormy onshore winds. \u00a0it actually looks like a washing machine on full cycle. \u00a0nobody wants anything to do with it, but it’s these days you can learn the most. \u00a0you will learn about the ocean, and you will learn about yourself. \u00a0i tell my students “if there’s a will, there’s a way.” \u00a0that means if you think positive you can accomplish anything. \u00a0just to get out to the lineup that morning took bravery and commitment. \u00a0but once you got out and ride a wave, your outlook on life will never be the same. \u00a0you will feel confident, and you will feel content. \u00a0and if you don’t believe me, just ask Sasaki-san about this amazing morning. \u00a0this is one of my best photos i’ve ever taken of “man vs. nature.” \u00a0pure commitment on the paddle out. \u00a0i just love it…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
