{"id":110228,"date":"2020-03-18T17:46:13","date_gmt":"2020-03-18T08:46:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=110228"},"modified":"2020-03-18T17:46:13","modified_gmt":"2020-03-18T08:46:13","slug":"big-wave-kanpai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=110228","title":{"rendered":"Big Wave Kanpai\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-110232\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-18-at-5.22.43-PM-663x376.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"663\" height=\"376\" \/>omg, i was watching the waves all day long and it was terrible. \u00a0then all of a sudden, i pick up Nakahodo-san and he says &#8220;rockpiles is starting to get good. \u00a0i can see it from my hotel.&#8221; \u00a0so we head there and it was better than good! \u00a0it was excellent!!!<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-110229\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-18-at-5.16.43-PM-663x372.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"663\" height=\"372\" \/>Seira-chan came along and rode some really nice lefts!!! \u00a0the waves were the best since she got here a month ago! \u00a0we scored!\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-110230\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-18-at-5.21.36-PM-663x441.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"663\" height=\"441\" \/>i&#8217;d say head high sets and long lefts off from Rock Piles rights. \u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-110235\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-18-at-5.24.32-PM-663x377.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"663\" height=\"377\" \/>Nakahodo-san just arrived from Okinawa today and was ready for the challenge. \u00a0riding a wave was the easy part. \u00a0paddling out and having 50 waves breaking on your head was the hard part.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-110234\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-18-at-5.24.12-PM-663x392.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"663\" height=\"392\" \/>smooth, glassy, nobody, and big! \u00a0this happened for only 2 hours of today and we were right there!<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-110231\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-18-at-5.22.11-PM-663x374.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"663\" height=\"374\" \/>the winds turned offshore and it started to barrel. \u00a0Rockpiles never barrels like this! \u00a0it was amazing&#8230;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-110233\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Screen-Shot-2020-03-18-at-5.23.34-PM-663x372.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"663\" height=\"372\" \/>Nakahodo-san on his last ride of the day. \u00a0when he came in, he said &#8220;wow, Hawaii has a lot of power.&#8221; \u00a0yeah, today was one of the best days in my life i&#8217;ve seen Rockpiles like that. \u00a0i felt like i was in Indonesia&#8230;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-110238\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/IMG_3613-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" \/>\u00a0on the way home, Nakahodo-san gave me this Chivas Regal whisky from Japan. \u00a0i wanted to open it up and take a shot because i was so dam happy! \u00a0haha.. \u00a0maybe we&#8217;ll do that tomorrow?
