i watched the whole WSL contest from start to finish today. \u00a0the overall contest was amazing. \u00a0the waves were good. \u00a0nothing like Pipeline, but a perfect all around wave that requires skill, adaptation, and commitment. \u00a0all the surfers performed to their expectations. \u00a0but these 2 surfers out surfed the competition and proved why they are World Champions.<\/p>\n

Mens World Champion Gabriel Medina: \u00a0nobody use to like Gabriel because nobody knew him. \u00a0he was a fierce competitor that did anything to win. \u00a0his father would be at every contest on the beach pushing him since he was little. \u00a0this year, Gabriel left his father at home. \u00a0he was different from the start of the year. \u00a0he looked loose, he looked happy, he looked revived, and most of all, he looked FREE! \u00a0no pressure and very relaxed. \u00a0therefore, more confident. \u00a0he was the best surfer of the year and this 3rd world title is well deserved.<\/p>\n

Women World Champion Carissa Moore: \u00a0everybody loves Carissa because she’s the sweetest girl in the world. \u00a0she came from behind and showed the world what sweetness and talent can do. \u00a0it’s her 5th world title and i predict many more to come. \u00a0coming from an Olympic Gold medal and now a World Champion, she is by far the “Surfer of the Year!”<\/p>\n
