{"id":121093,"date":"2022-01-15T13:17:25","date_gmt":"2022-01-15T04:17:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=121093"},"modified":"2022-01-15T13:17:25","modified_gmt":"2022-01-15T04:17:25","slug":"blue-water-diving-201","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=121093","title":{"rendered":"Blue Water Diving 201"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-95771\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirby\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/IMG_0368-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Day 14 of 2022: \u00a0my body told me to take a break from the ocean. \u00a0but when Joshua texted me last night to go diving, i couldn&#8217;t and wouldn&#8217;t say no. \u00a0so we loaded up Mayuki early this morning and went free diving to the deep blue very far away.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-95773\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirby\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/IMG_0373-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>today&#8217;s special guest was my old-time surfer friend Kimo Gasper. \u00a0Kimo isn&#8217;t only a respected Hawaiian power surfer, he&#8217;s also one of the best blue water divers in Hawaii. \u00a0so before we started, he gave the kids tips that only experienced hunters know.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-95772\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirby\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/IMG_0390-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>we were 20 miles (32KM) off the island of Oahu. \u00a0whales jumping everywhere and sharks circling us all day long. \u00a0as for the conditions, i&#8217;ve never seen it any better than this. \u00a0the current was running at the exact same speed as the wind so we were diving for hours right on the side of Mayuki. \u00a0i didn&#8217;t even need a wetsuit today.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-95775\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirby\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/IMG_0391-600x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>it was a great learning experience, and we caught just enough for dinner.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-95776\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirby\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/IMG_0418-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>i was so happy to see Joshua feeling super comfortable in a very uncomfortable place. \u00a0he was smiling all day. \u00a0this is how you gain confidence back, and this is how you heal. \u00a0because the ocean fixes everything!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-95774\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirby\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/IMG_0436-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>thank you boys for a memorable day. \u00a0let&#8217;s do this again! \u00a0and again, and again!!!<\/p>\n<p>sorry i couldn&#8217;t take calls, return texts and emails today. \u00a0my phone was off and now i&#8217;m too exhausted. \u00a0gotta go to sleep because tomorrow is another ocean day!
