{"id":122305,"date":"2022-06-19T05:05:37","date_gmt":"2022-06-18T20:05:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=122305"},"modified":"2022-06-18T14:05:54","modified_gmt":"2022-06-18T05:05:54","slug":"surf-city-before-and-after","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=122305","title":{"rendered":"Surf City Before and After"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-99158\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirby\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/IMG_4831-640x480-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>this was back when i went to El Salvador to explore. \u00a0i was hanging out with these 3 kids the whole time. \u00a0none of them spoke English but we somehow communicated through surfing. \u00a0that kid on the far rights name is Charlie. \u00a0he lived directly in front of Punta Roca, where they just completed the WSL contest. \u00a0i watched a few heats live on the internet and i swear i saw him in the background. \u00a0he looked like a big kid now and i&#8217;m super thankful for him and his boys for being my bodyguards during that trip&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-99159\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirby\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/IMG_0149.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>they ran the contest for 3 days and the waves weren&#8217;t even close to how good it can get. \u00a0so i&#8217;d say i got it pretty dam good on this day with nobody out. \u00a0i wish i can go back there with my magic boards and give it another shot. \u00a0hopefully someday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-99155\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirby\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/IMG_5159.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2016\" height=\"1512\" \/><\/p>\n<p>this is my surfboard room. \u00a0i painted it light blue 15 years ago because it&#8217;s a calming color. \u00a0i would go in there to exercise and admire all of my magic surfboards. \u00a0but now that i&#8217;m calm, i needed a change&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-99156\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirby\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/IMG_5321-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1512\" height=\"2016\" \/><\/p>\n<p>DIY means &#8220;Do It Yourself.&#8221; \u00a0and when it comes to my house, my Grandpa use to always do it himself so i try to follow his footsteps. \u00a0i still can&#8217;t believe he built this house over 60 years ago. \u00a0and he did it by himself without power tools&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-99157\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirby\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/IMG_5327-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1512\" height=\"2016\" \/><\/p>\n<p>so after i finished remodeling this room, i thought to myself &#8220;wow, Grandpa would be so proud.&#8221;
