around 20 years ago, i went to Mexico for a surf trip. \u00a0i walked down to the local fishing village and experienced some fresh seafood. \u00a0i still don’t know what this was. \u00a0it looked like an oyster, BUT, it tasted like a scallop. \u00a0it even tasted like a mix of an oyster and a scallop. \u00a0![\"\"](\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/CIMG0228.jpg\")

anyway, i went on that photo surf trip to Mexico with Scott Aichner who happened to be the best water photographer in the world at that time. \u00a0we were staying in Puerto Escondido when he introduced me to these top Mexican Pro surfers. \u00a0we surfed 10′ Puerto Escondido and these guys were the top guys out there. \u00a0one day they invited me to surf a secret spot. \u00a0we drove 3 hours and these guys told me that if i tell anyone where this spot was, i could possible get killed. \u00a0and i believed them. \u00a0there wasn’t even a name for that spot and there was nobody else there. \u00a0we pulled into a bumpy dirt road and surfed one of the best waves i ever seen. \u00a0after that session, they told me to forget what just happened. \u00a0and i really did forget because i didn’t want to be the one to expose Mexico’s best kept secret. \u00a0as years gone by, other people started talking and next thing you know, this spot became one of the most popular surf destinations in the world. \u00a0that spot is called Barra de la Cruz. \u00a0it’s no secret anymore…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
