Whenever I coach someone, I always ask for their goals. \u00a0In the beginning, this girls goal was just to surf and have fun. \u00a0She accomplished that a while ago. \u00a0After that, I kind of set her goals for her. \u00a0I told her that in order to become a good and respected surfer, you must follow these rules.<\/p>\n
1. \u00a0Surf good: \u00a0The better you surf, the more you will be respected.<\/p>\n
2. \u00a0Learn mannerism: \u00a0Let the Uncle’s have priority because your day of being an Aunty will come.<\/p>\n
3. \u00a0Paddle around: \u00a0Never paddle straight back out to the lineup after riding a wave. \u00a0Paddle around so you don’t get into anyones way.<\/p>\n
4. \u00a0Catch and Ride: \u00a0If you paddle for a wave, you better catch it no matter what. \u00a0No surfer likes to see waves going to waste.<\/p>\n
5. \u00a0Don’t complain: \u00a0Just be lucky we can surf here every single day. \u00a0Appreciate the ocean, and appreciate Mother Nature.<\/p>\n

So yesterday we go to Bowls and the waves are absolutely perfect. \u00a0A perfect set comes and I say “GO!” \u00a0I follow behind filming the action. \u00a0There’s power, there’s flow, and there’s style. \u00a0This girl is ripping! \u00a0![\"\"](\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/GPTempDownload-50-800x450.jpg\")

After the first turn, I see her setting up for another one. \u00a0It was so beautiful to see. \u00a0We come back to the beach and she had the biggest smile on her face. \u00a0I didn’t even have to ask how her session was because her smile said everything…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
