It’s pretty rare to have such a calm and silent day out in the ocean. \u00a0If you can see in the distance, that is the island of Oahu. \u00a0So we are about 20 miles or 32 kilometers out at sea. \u00a0It’s so quiet that it’s basically silent out there. \u00a0When I’m driving the boat, I can hear the boys talking through their snorkels. \u00a0If you’re underwater, you won’t hear anything, but we still talk like that anyway. \u00a0Basically talking to ourselves. \u00a0I heard things like “wow, clean water. \u00a0so beautiful. \u00a0watch out for that shark. \u00a0oh, jellyfish. \u00a0OMG, you missed. \u00a0OMG, I missed. \u00a0and so forth.” \u00a0I’m listening to the conversations laughing to myself. \u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

Free diving is the most therapeutic thing you can possibly do. \u00a0It’s basically you and the ocean. \u00a0Once you’re in the water, you’re in your own world with zero distractions. \u00a0All you hear are the whales singing and as you go deeper and deeper, you almost catch yourself falling asleep. \u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

Sometimes you have a weird feeling like something is watching you. \u00a0There are many times I turn around and there is a shark right behind my fins. \u00a0Sometimes whales too. \u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

On this day, it was so calm that the boat wasn’t even moving. \u00a0I don’t remember ever diving on a calm day like that. \u00a0You couldn’t ask for any better conditions.<\/p>\n
