We drove all around the East side this morning looking for waves to surf. \u00a0We wanted to try something different and more exciting. \u00a0There is a very dangerous spot that nobody surfs so we decided to give it a try. \u00a0There is nobody around, there are no lifeguards, the waves smash against the rocks, and if you slip, you will get crushed. \u00a0All that rock climbing at Ala Moana was practice for the real thing. \u00a0Today was the real thing. \u00a0 \u00a0![\"\"](\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/GPTempDownload-58-800x450.jpg\")

Timing is everything. \u00a0I told this girl that I wasn’t going to say when to jump. \u00a0She had to decide on her own. \u00a0Yes, I’m more nervous than her because if something happens, I have to jump in after her. \u00a0I didn’t want to ding my board. \u00a0Haha. \u00a0![\"\"](\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/GPTempDownload-57-800x450.jpg\")

She jumped in a little too early. \u00a0I was thinking to myself “OMG!” \u00a0Luckily the wave didn’t push her back into the rocks. \u00a0Maybe next time I will tell her when to jump. \u00a0 \u00a0![\"\"](\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/GPTempDownload-59-800x450.jpg\")

It was so wild but she managed to get a wave on her own. \u00a0Then her leash came off and her board was heading straight for the rocks. \u00a0I grabbed it right in time. \u00a0Then I said “we’re going in right now.” \u00a0That was enough excitement for me. \u00a0And must have been 10x more for her. \u00a0These are the days the ocean will humble you. \u00a0Just glad nobody got hurt…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
