We’ve been long boarding because the waves have been small. \u00a0Practicing timing, and practicing style. \u00a0When you have the right timing, the style follows, and everything after that looks really good. \u00a0This is a lot harder to do than it looks.<\/p>\n

Next wave jumping on a shortboard. \u00a0Something most surfers have a difficult time doing. \u00a0But not for this surfer. \u00a0She can jump back and forth on any size board and surf it properly. \u00a0That is harder than it looks.<\/p>\n

I saw lots of boats heading to Molokai for the Molokai to Oahu paddle board race that’s happening today. \u00a0I was an escort boat captain twice and both times the conditions were super rough. \u00a0This year I turned down the job and I don’t regret it. \u00a0At any age, your body will ache for a while because of the ride over and back. \u00a0It’s as rough and dangerous as it gets. \u00a0It’s not for everyone.<\/p>\n

Then a storm comes and everything turns black. \u00a0You can’t see anything because of the strong wind and rain stinging your eyes. \u00a0This is not for everyone either. \u00a0So yes, I’m happy to be here on land in Hawaii and not in these rough seas for 2 full days. \u00a0My body just told me “thank you.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
