Strong onshore winds this morning at Bowls but it didn’t stop us from surfing. \u00a0Sunny sky and nobody out. \u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

Round 1: \u00a0Kamobayashi-san is very strong minded. \u00a0Not too many surfers can endure the conditions we had today. \u00a0Lots of bumps, lots of waves breaking in front of us, and lots of wind in your face. \u00a0But he kept on going and going. \u00a0This is surfing…\"\"<\/p>\n

So stoked to see surfers enjoying the ride till the end like this. \u00a0This is surfing…<\/p>\n

Round 2: \u00a0Nakahodo-san and I drove an hour to the other side of the island looking for the perfect wave. \u00a0Guess what? \u00a0Yes, we found it. \u00a0Sunny, overhead, offshore, and as perfect as can be. \u00a0I honestly thought we were on a remote island off Indonesia. \u00a0There was nobody when we paddled out. \u00a0Later, 2 local guys paddled out and one of them told me “this happens here only once a year.” \u00a0It was that rare, and that good. \u00a0We had the best session ever and when we got in, Nakahodo-san told me that this was his best session since we started surfing together 10 years ago. \u00a0Then he asked me the name of the surf spot and I told him, “DON’T ASK!!!” \u00a0Todays spot is super secret and only the locals on that side know about it. \u00a0No photos, no GPS, and no explanation needed. \u00a0This is surfing…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
