Welcome back Rikita-san! \u00a0I was so happy to see you surf your best today. \u00a0Lots of waves and keeping calm.\"\"<\/p>\n

It was a picture perfect day this afternoon. \u00a0Warmer than summer and the cleanest water. \u00a0Endless rides…\"\"<\/p>\n

We had the biggest and best waves you could ever ask for back in 2018. \u00a0Our South Sumatra surf trip was filled with a historic swell that surfers dream of. \u00a0I still remember this day very clearly because I was actually a little nervous paddling out. \u00a0The whole entire ocean was moving, the waves were over 10′, and there were only 3 other guys out. \u00a0As I got closer to the lineup, I realized that these are the kind of days if you make one small mistake, you will die. \u00a0This surf spot was so shallow, so remote, and so powerful. \u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

All the kids from the little village came out to watch this historic day. \u00a0Someday they will be surfers? \u00a0Why not when you have one of Indonesia’s best waves right in front of your doorstep? \u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

And yes, there were perfect barreling lefts too. \u00a0There were waves everywhere! \u00a0It was still a secret surf destination back in 2018 so it was empty. \u00a0Now the world found out and I heard it’s really crowded these days. \u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

My favorite part of every trip is to watch the kids playing. \u00a0Everyone is so happy to see foreigners.<\/p>\n
