Everybody still asks me “are there sharks in Hawaii?” \u00a0My answer has always been “if there is ocean, there are sharks.” \u00a0We are in their territory and the more you think about it, the less you will enjoy. \u00a0As divers, we don’t like to talk about sharks until we’re heading home safely.<\/p>\n

After is shot this Uku, I put my knife into its head to kill it. \u00a0Then all the blood started to rush out. \u00a0This is where you must be very careful. \u00a0It’s a free meal for a hungry shark and they will come and eat it right off your hand or head. \u00a0Or both. \u00a0Five seconds after I took this photo, I felt something weird over my right shoulder.<\/p>\n

This tiger shark had its mouth wide open just a few feet away getting ready to eat his free meal. \u00a0If I didn’t look, I probably wouldn’t be here writing this blog today. \u00a0When he knew I saw him, he turned to the left and swam along my side. \u00a0I was watching his eye as he was watching mine. \u00a0It was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced.<\/p>\n
