Round 1: \u00a0We gambled again today. \u00a0Drove over 1.5 hours looking for surf and offshore winds. \u00a0We see a spot far out at sea and decided to try it out. \u00a0As we paddled nearer and nearer to the wave, it was a lot bigger and stronger than I thought. \u00a0Of course I didn’t tell the girls that. \u00a0Yesterday’s wave was comparable to Tavarua in Fiji. \u00a0Nice 6′ high perfect crystal barrels. \u00a0Today’s wave was comparable to Teahupo\u02bbo in Tahiti. \u00a0Dark double up 6′ high by 6′ wide barrels breaking over razor sharp reef. \u00a0And with the 25mph strong off shore winds, the wave was even crazier. \u00a0We surfed for an hour and then they wanted to paddle in but I told them “no, you are not paddling in, you are catching a wave in!” \u00a0They caught their last wave which was so crazy! \u00a0Another day of survival and another day these girls will never forget for the rest of their lives.<\/p>\n

We decided to drive home the long way. \u00a0Nice scenery like this brings down the adrenaline rush and calms the soul. \u00a0And makes you realize how lucky to be alive for another day.<\/p>\n

A visit to Windward Mall for ice cream. \u00a0Gosh, I haven’t been here in 20 years. \u00a0Such a cool and cozy shopping mall. \u00a0Probably my favorite mall on the island. \u00a0And yes, the ice cream was delicious!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
