This morning was so fun! \u00a0I did a training session with Japanese pro surfer Roy Kanazawa. \u00a0This is only the 2nd time we surfed together but I can totally connect with him. \u00a0Watching his every wave and every maneuver carefully and trying to make it better. \u00a0Roy’s level is so high already but he wants get better. \u00a0A kid with big dreams! \u00a0![\"\"](\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/GPTempDownload-39.jpg\")

Roy is from Shikoku so is very mellow. \u00a0Super humble and quiet. \u00a0This is the kind of surfer that surprises you once he catches a wave. \u00a0I was very impressed by his surfing level. \u00a0![\"\"](\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/GPTempDownload-38.jpg\")

As for the waves, it was a lot better than I expected. \u00a0I thought it was going to be flat so I actually put masks and snorkels in my car. \u00a0If it was flat, I was going to take Roy to run with 50 lbs. rocks under water at Waimea Bay. \u00a0But the waves were good and because we are surfers, we surfed! \u00a0![\"\"](\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/GPTempDownload-37.jpg\")
