for all of you who don’t know, Miwa-san is our translator for our
\ngo-naminori blogs. she changes my english into japanese as well as other
\nbloggers. it’s a hard job, especially because i post so many. i’m so
\nthankful that she is part of the team and on this trip, we hung out
\neveryday so i got to know her pretty well. 3 days ago, i told her about
\nthe new rule where japanese nationals (tourists) won’t be able to get a hawaii
\ndrivers license anymore after march 3, 2012. soon after that
\nconversation, we went to wallmart, bought a drivers license book, she
\nread it for 2 days, and she told me she was almost ready. yesterday, i
\ncalled the drivers license office to ask what was needed to get a
\nlicense. they told me that she has to go to the federal building in town
\nto get a letter of a social security number being declined. then she can
\ngo take the test after. i called miwa-san to tell her what she had to
\ndo, then guess what she told me? “hey, i passed the permit test!!!” eeh?
\nwhat? she went down by herself, did all the paperwork necessary, went to
\nthe federal building, then went to the drivers license office, took the
\ntest, and passed. and get this, the test is only in english!! and it’s
\npretty dam tricky. remember i failed the motorcycle permit a few months
\nago? haha. Miwa-san is a college graduate, she’s a very smart women, and
\nshe has a lot of passion for hawaii and surfing. i’m stoked to have her
\npart of the team! hey miwa-san, hope you had a great time in hawaii.
\nkeep on going after your dream and i will help you as much as possible.
