Round 1: \u00a0A very wild morning. \u00a0From sunny sky and paradise yesterday, to dark, rainy, and gloomy today. \u00a0Of course nobody would paddle out to Bowls this morning but we aren’t nobody. \u00a0We are storm riders! \u00a0When we first got out, you could barely see a thing. \u00a0Rain and wind stinging the eye, the storm blackened out the sky, and it was pretty crazy.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The rain stopped and the surfing started. \u00a0Takahata-san is a good surfer so he knows how to make the best out of nothing.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Only an experienced hunter can find waves on days like today. \u00a0Only one in a hundred waves was ridable so you had to make the right choice.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And with these stormy conditions, the waves were very powerful. \u00a0Great rail surfing.<\/p>\n

Yesterday I surfed perfect barrels and never had to duck dive a wave. \u00a0Today I had to duck dive over a hundred waves just to get back out. \u00a0I think I spent more time underwater than above. \u00a0I teach my students that you must be ready for everything. \u00a0Today was that everything.<\/p>\n

Takahata-san was probably the happiest surfer on the south shore today because he was probably the only surfer surfing on the south shore today. \u00a0Haha.<\/p>\n
