big east wind swell for the past few days. i’ve been surfing a secret spot that nobody knows about. how do i know? nobody was out. head high and perfect rights. the swell is getting bigger and i’ll be out there everyday this week. secrets are best kept secrets.

\nthis is no secret. guess where this is? Pipeline! yeah, i was swimming out there the other day and seen this big ulua in the shallow water. i’d say 20 lbs. or 9 kilos. if i had my speargun, i would have sashimi for the week ahead. for now, i just have to dream about it. good thing i had my camera or nobody would believe me. he was just circling this hole looking for a meal.

\ni’ve haven’t speared a fish in a long time. illegal in the maldives, too busy in hawaii. i don’t even know what my boat looks like anymore. i heard from a friend that the big Ono’s or Sawara’s are coming in. the next chance i get, i’m going to go look for one. and if i get one, i’m eating sashimi everyday for a week. for now, i just have to remember this one i speared in the deep blue water of hawaii.

\nindonesia has some of the biggest dogtooth tunas in the world. i’ve tried there so many times but haven’t gotten a huge one yet. we’ve been to places so deserted that if our boat motor breaks, we’re lost at sea. we raced so many sunsets back to land and when i think about it, that’s pretty crazy. once it gets dark, it’s pitch dark and if you get lost, nobody will find you. this year, i’m going to try again in indonesia. i’m never giving up until i spear a tuna twice the size of me. stay tuned. but for now, i’ll just go to Foodland and buy ahi poke. haha. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
