{"id":23372,"date":"2012-09-04T05:00:19","date_gmt":"2012-09-03T20:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=23372"},"modified":"2012-09-04T05:00:19","modified_gmt":"2012-09-03T20:00:19","slug":"oxtail-soup-in-hawaii-60-mentawai-memories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=23372","title":{"rendered":"Oxtail Soup in Hawaii, 60 Mentawai Memories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?attachment_id=23374\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23374\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/photo-13.jpg\" alt=\"photo 1\" title=\"photo 1\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-23374\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nthere once use to be a bowling alley called Kam Bowl that sold the best oxtail soup. oxtail or better known in japan as &#8220;tail&#8221; soup is my favorite.  i use to go to Kam bowl at least 1x a week to eat it.  but ever since they closed a few years ago, i had no place to go.  then my mom and i went to another bowling alley last night that served even better oxtail soup.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?attachment_id=23375\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23375\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/photo-22.jpg\" alt=\"photo 2\" title=\"photo 2\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-medium alignnone size-medium wp-image-23375\" \/><\/a><br \/>\ncheck out how they serve it.  a little local\/japanese style.  it cost $13.95 but they give a lot.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?attachment_id=23373\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23373\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/photo-32.jpg\" alt=\"photo 3\" title=\"photo 3\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-medium alignnone size-medium alignnone size-medium wp-image-23373\" \/><\/a><br \/>\ni was looking forward to what was on the bottom.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?attachment_id=23377\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23377\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/photo-41.jpg\" alt=\"photo 4\" title=\"photo 4\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-medium alignnone size-medium alignnone size-medium alignnone size-medium wp-image-23377\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nthen finally, a hot bowl of oxtail soup.  a local favorite in hawaii that tastes so good.  i wish i could tell you where it is but the guy told me they always run out so i&#8217;ll keep it a secret for a little while more.  1x a week, i&#8217;m there!<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?attachment_id=23376\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23376\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_7635-copy.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7635 copy\" title=\"IMG_7635 copy\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" class=\"alignnone size-medium alignnone size-medium alignnone size-medium alignnone size-medium alignnone size-medium wp-image-23376\" \/><\/a><br \/>\ndove owner tokura-san turned 60 a few years ago and i was there on a boat in the mentawai&#8217;s to celebrate his special birthday.  i shot over 3000 photos.  about 40 were published.  the other lay deep into my old photo library.  ones like these will be lost forever.  but thought i&#8217;d show you a few before it&#8217;s gone.  i remember tokura-san passing me by as i was going to dive under the wave.  i stuck my camera out and snapped this last moment.  pretty cool memory!
