ok, so i added up the flight time and time spent at airports. i was gone for 11 days but only spent 7 days in argentina\/uruguay. and the rest, i was either up in the air, or down at the airports. total 10 full flights, 43 hours in the airplane, and another 22 hours at airports. i sure learned a lot on being a standby flyer. first, you have to be super patient. second, you have to have a very flexible schedule. and last, you have to go with the flow. that was the part i knew how to do the best. i seen other standby people that couldn’t get on the flight freaking out and totally stressing. this kind of traveling isn’t for everybody. and it almost wasn’t for me. after getting stuck in detroit on the way there, i almost gave up and flew back home to hawaii. but if i did, that would be a failure and failure is not in my dictionary. so i kept positive and kept on moving forward. and after 2 days, i finally made it to argentina! yatta!

\nand while i was sitting in the back of the airplanes in economy class, there were delta advertisements on the screen for private jet charters. gosh, i miss traveling in private jets. haha. but this advertisement kept on flashing and kept on reminding me how comfortable those private jets were. if i flew to south america in a private jet and backpacked at $15 hostels, all my friends would call me an “idiot.” haha.

\nthe highlight of my trip was the amazing sunset in Cabo Polonio. even though it took me days to get there by plane, taxi, bus, ferry, bus, and rent a car. it was worth all the hard work. i can still remember screaming and running down the hill to the beach with my camera in one hand and my uruguay beer in the other. i felt like a little kid that seen santa clause. that moment has to be in my top 10 moments of my life and i will never forget it.

\nsomething wrong in the photo? yes. mcdonalds??? for the past 22 years, i watched slowly as mcdonald’s invaded japan, indonesia, philippines, and almost everywhere i’ve traveled too. now it’s invading south america. a new mcdonalds restaurant on the 1st floor of a thousand year building? that’s pretty sad.

\ni wake up yesterday, go for a surf, eat a healthy lunch, then hang out at down at the beach in my surf trunks, slippers, and no tshirt. i had to take this photo to show you my panoramic view! i couldn’t have felt better to be back to paradise. as for now, i don’t want to leave this beautiful island. but next week, i’ll probably be planning another trip. haha.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
