here’s how i got him. i dove down 70′ in shark infested waters. i dropped down to the bottom and waited about 3 minutes until this big kumu came out of the hole. i was going on 4 minutes underwater but i wanted him so bad so i waited and waited. i wanted to make a gyotaku print so instead of spearing him, i grabbed him with my bare hands. that’s why there is no spear mark. i fought and fought with him all the way up. i threw him in the boat and that was it…. boy, what a day….
\nby the way, i hid the background of this photo because i don’t want any divers going to my secret kumu grounds. when we divers see a photo of a good fish being caught, we look good in the background so we can figure out where it is. because i’m so nice, i will give you a hint. it’s somewhere in honolulu….
\n
\nkyle stalked and stalked the mu’s. if you don’t know what a mu is, a mu is the hardest fish on the planet to spear. they have a brain smarter than ours. if you can spear a mu, you are either lucky, or dam good. kyle is dam good. he outsmarted the mu by catching a tako first, then cutting it up to bring the mu in. he hid behind a ledge, and speared a great dinner….
\n
\na long day ending up coming in with the honolulu city lights. i’m so dam tired but feel so dam good. just another great day in paradise….
\n**by the way, i made up the story about my kumu. it was sleeping in 5′ deep water. haha….<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
good evening. today started out slow. i checked a hole where almost every time i hit, i get a big kumu. today?
