good chilly monday evening. gosh, how cold was it today? i was freezing cold in my full wetsuit. the winds were cold, the water was cold, and i’m still cold. went for a short dive with my brother and naoka today. seen something pretty amazing again. we were diving in kind of murky water and i seen a big shadow about 20′ away. i thought it was a big shark but as it came closer, it was a hawaiian monk seal. there were 2 of them. they swam right by us and it’s weird how they seem so much like human. they look you right in the eye as if they were saying something. anyway, seeing a monk seal in the water is pretty rare and this is only my 5th time or so. it was pretty cool….

\ncheck out this kumu i speared today. i went down to check out this deep hole with all sand on the bottom. i didn’t see anything in there but i just waited and out came this beautiful red kumu. the thing was so big that i kind of freaked out. it looked at me, turned around and started to swim back in the hole. i shot it from behind, grabbed it, and held it tight because i didn’t want to lose it. this kumu happens to be the biggest kumu i’ve ever speared in my life. and also the biggest kumu i’ve ever seen in my life….

\ni got 4 today. pretty good for a couple of hours of work…. it’s on the ice waiting to be eaten…. oishi yo…

\ni told naoka i was going diving today because the waves were shitty. he didn’t mind coming for the second day in a row… we got so cold around lunch time that we had to come in. it was super cold….[:???:][:???:][:???:]
