good morning. hey, waves all over the island!! the south swell is here. not that big but i see some really nice overhead waves breaking at bowls. north shore is good too!!! 20 guys out at pipeline getting barreled. pipeline in may? yes, weird year. i’m going surfing!!!

\ni was invited to a private live concert last night at the hilton hawaiian village. when i got there, it was fenced off so you need a special pass to get in. the band manager came out to get me and let me in. i sat at a table and as i walked in, i seen the crab leg buffet but held off because i didn’t want people to freak out on me. i would have crawled in a corner and ate it all. haha…

\nthe junk thing about having a blog is that i don’t know if it’s ok or not to post things. i understand and respect peoples private lives, especially famous people. until now, i’ve been playing it pretty safe so i should continue too. this band is like the “N’Sync” of japan. these guys are pretty famous to have over 450 fans come all the way from japan for this special concert here in hawaii. i surfed with 2 of the guys in the band and to me, there like regular really nice people. so when i pulled up to the concert with my tshirt, shorts, and slippers with my little friend that had a tshirt and shorts herself, i felt out of place. everybody was in dresses and really nice clothes. not to mention, 445 of the 450 were all women.
\nthe manager escorted me in to a vip table and instead of sitting down, i wanted to stand up in the back and witness everything. the band was awesome!!! i was in awe all night listening to them sing and watching them make their fans so happy. i thought it was cool….
\nthen as i was standing listening to the music, i get tapped on the shoulder by a japanese security guy wearing all black. “hey, are you with the group?” he asked. “huh? the group? no, i’m not with the group (thinking that he was asking me if i was in the band). as soon as i said “no”, he said “get out now!!!” what??? he said again “get out now” and pointed to the exit. i said, “hey, i was invited here dude. i ain’t leaving. our seats are right there!!” he looked pretty pissed off at me and walked away. i was going to chase him down and say “hey, 2 of the guys in the group are my surfer friends so you better watch who your talking too. just because i’m in shorts, tshirt, and slippers, you don’t have to treat me that way.” haha… just joking… but when the guy tried to throw me out of the concert, i was laughing inside because there was no way i was going to leave…..
\nanyway, i had a great time last night. sitting under the stars fronting the lagoon at the hilton hawaiian village was really nice. i got to listen to cool japanese pop music and as i was walking back to my car, i passed by the pool and guess who was singing live there? henry kapono!! wow, what an entertaining night!!!

\nthen i stopped by my friends graduation party after at “Kochi.”
