\ngood morning. gotta get going to the airport, but before that, i’m
\ngoing to jump into the water, paddle out, and catch one wave for the
\nlong road ahead. i know i won’t be surfing for a while and will
\nprobably the longest i’ll ever be out of the water, but it’s ok. i
\njust appreciate that i can even surf. as for japan, i hope the ocean,
\nthe land, and the people can heal soon.
\ni’ve been talking to people that have been in the front line of the
\ndisaster. just as i thought, it is much heavier than they thought.
\nour team is assembled, our cars are ready, and once i land in japan,
\nit’s time to get to work.
\ni have 2 radioactive detectors, one analog that i finally figured out
\nhow to use. as for the digital one, i have no clue. if anybody knows
\nhow to use a MGP Instruments DMC-2000 Electronic Dosimeter, PLEASE
\nCONTACT ME AND TELL ME HOW TO USE IT….. how did such an expensive
\ndevice come with such a terrible manual???
\nlast, just wanted to thank everybody for supporting me on this trip.
\nit’s such a great feeling to have so many caring and kind people on
\nyour side. i can’t explain the feeling. i know that there are lots
\nof lonely people in japan wondering what will happen, i’m going to do
\nmy best to be on their side. well, i should say that “WE” will be by
\ntheir side. why? because WE ARE ONE!!!!

\noh wait!! scroll back up and take a good look at the ONE logo. naoka
\nand i worked on this t-shirt as soon as i got back from palau. we got
\na lot of good comments on it which made us both happy. BUT, there is a
\nhidden message in the logo that i didn’t know about until naoka told
\nme about it 2 days ago. you see the japan island chain, and the
\nhawaiian island chain? naoka placed it like that for a reason. well,
\n2 reasons. first, japan and hawaii are so connected that we are ONE.
\nthe next is something that gave me chicken skin. do you know this
\nkanji character? \u00e3\u0080\u0080\u00e4\u00ba\u00ba\u00e3\u0080\u0080this kanji character means “hito” or
\n“people.” the two sticks represent two different people, or a group
\nof “people.” so it’s described as one stick holding up the other,
\nmeaning “people supporting people.” i told naoka that this was the
\nmost magical thing i’ve ever seen in my life. now when i see this
\nsticker or wear my tshirt, i can see the \u00e4\u00ba\u00ba\u00e3\u0080\u0080 \u00e3\u0080\u0080and= it makes me
\nhappy because that’s what we are, “people supporting people.” with
\nthis in mind, we can make it through anything in life. thanks naoka
\nfor giving me a spark in my life just as i was starting to go
