it’s 12:32 am and i’m sitting on the top of a pretty small hill that
\noverlooks a town that got completely wiped away 3 weeks ago. we were
\ndown there this evening looking at the beach with big matson
\ncontainers scattered along the shore looking like toy box cars. the
\nsirens are full blast telling everybody to evacuate and get to higher
\nground. there are many people up here looking confused. i heard the
\nfirst small tsumami rolled through already. am i ready to go down the
\nhill? no way. not after i seen with my own eyes the damage from 3
\nweeks ago.
\nfor me, it was weird. it was a big earthquake but i wasn’t scared.
\nmaybe because i thought it was all a dream. and still do. the sirens
\nare still going off in the pitch dark. tomorrow, we planed to wake up
\nearly and give aid to people in ishinomaki city where it got hit hard
\non the last tsumami. will the plan change? i don’t know. if it’s up
\nto me, i’m still going. remember, there are still people there trying
\nto recover.
\ni’m tired, but wide awake. i’m scared, but ready to take action. i
\nwant to go back to hawaii, but that’s not an option. i’m here for a
\nmission and ain’t leaving till i’m done.
