good morning. i’ve been here for 3 days and guess what? i didn’t take
\na shower and am still wearing the same clothes. but so what? i’m
\nfeeling pretty good. my body might not be clean, but my mind is. it’s
\nbeen my 3rd time up here and seeing everybody getting happier and
\nhappier is so rewarding. we have a solid route going back to places
\nthat need the most help. and in the meantime, we’re finding other
\nplaces in need. we’re focused on the oshika peninsula where the nearest
\nplace to buy food is over an hour away. there are so many people living
\nhere that are so thankful. our team worked hard the first day and today
\nis another. i took this photo yesterday as we drove back to kobuchihama
\nto drop off supplies, and to show the fisherman the KITV news clip.
\nthey were so happy when matsu played the clip on his iphone.
\nsince there is no place to stay, or eat, or to shower around here, we
\ndrove up to the top of the mountain, set up our tent, and seen one of
\nthe most beautiful view i’ve ever seen in japan. as the sun set into
\nthe horizon, the full moon rose. then this morning as the full moon was
\ngoing down, the sun rose and gave us the most beautiful sunrise you will
\never see. it’s magic up here and even though things are far from over,
\nthing seem to be moving in a positive direction.
\nour plan is to stay in ishinomaki today, then go back to the “evacuation
\nzone,” minami soma. we’re going to meet the mayor again!
