{"id":63840,"date":"2016-01-26T12:17:13","date_gmt":"2016-01-26T03:17:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=63840"},"modified":"2016-01-26T12:17:13","modified_gmt":"2016-01-26T03:17:13","slug":"free-surf-hawaii-vs-japan-joshua-moniz-and-takayuki-wakita","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=63840","title":{"rendered":"Free Surf:  Hawaii vs. Japan- Joshua Moniz and Takayuki Wakita"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_5281.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5281\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-63841\" \/><br \/>\nit&#8217;s my first travel of the year and i was really looking forward to this day.  two reasons, one is i&#8217;m doing a transit on the way to my destination in japan, and a layover on the way back. just that is exciting to me because i feel like i haven&#8217;t been to japan in years.  so i jumped on my bike and flew to the airport with a big smile.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_5282.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5282\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-63842\" \/><br \/>\nneeded the time to just get on a plane and do nothing.  most people don&#8217;t like long 9 hour flights, but i love it.  it&#8217;s my time to myself to do what i want.  opened up the new free surf magazine and started reading it.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_5283.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5283\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-63843\" \/><br \/>\nflipped some pages and seen this beautiful spread of my nephew Joshua Moniz.  i&#8217;m so proud of this kid!  nice pipeline barrel Josh.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_5284.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5284\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-63844\" \/><br \/>\nJosh just putting more stamps of the world known Moniz name around the world.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_5285.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5285\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-63845\" \/><br \/>\nthen flipped a few more pages and seen Takayuki Wakita in a big pipeline barrel!  so stoked for Wakita representing japan in such a good way.  one of the coolest guys you will ever meet.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/IMG_5287.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5287\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-63846\" \/><br \/>\nthe second reason i was really looking forward to this trip was because my best friend was coming with me.  it&#8217;s been 11 long years since the last time Carter and i traveled together.     i&#8217;m really looking forward to this trip with him.  when he asked me last month, &#8220;where are you going to go?&#8221;  i told him, &#8220;only the wind will take us there.  so just hold on.&#8221;  haha.
