{"id":65648,"date":"2016-03-19T05:33:06","date_gmt":"2016-03-18T20:33:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=65648"},"modified":"2016-03-19T05:33:06","modified_gmt":"2016-03-18T20:33:06","slug":"surfdive-hawaii-big-wave-and-turtle-cleaning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=65648","title":{"rendered":"Surf\/Dive Hawaii:  Big Wave and Turtle Cleaning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>omg, Asayama-san went big yesterday!!!  before we paddled out, i told him &#8220;ok, i&#8217;m going to give you a smaller board today.  just remember to look forward and bend your knees.  have confidence in yourself and everything will be alright.&#8221;<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-18-at-1.10.50-PM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-03-18 at 1.10.50 PM\" width=\"640\" height=\"359\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65651\" \/><br \/>\ni see a big set coming, i say &#8220;turn around, relax, and GO!&#8221;  Asayama-san paddled hard, took off, stood up, and caught the biggest wave of his life!  i was riding on the side yelling &#8220;yeah!!!  yeah!!!&#8221;  i could see the stoke in his eyes!  imagine falling from the sky heading into knee high deep reef?  after this wave, he said &#8220;surfing is so fun!!!&#8221;<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-18-at-1.11.02-PM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-03-18 at 1.11.02 PM\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65655\" \/><br \/>\nit&#8217;s crazy how everybody has their own style.  no two styles are alike, but when i&#8217;m surfing with Asayama-san, his style reminds me of someone.  do you know who?  yes, Inaida-san!  omg, their surfing style is so similar!  even my friend out there told me &#8220;wow, his surfing looks exactly like Inaida-san&#8217;s.&#8221;  so true.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-18-at-1.09.04-PM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-03-18 at 1.09.04 PM\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65649\" \/><br \/>\nafter 10 waves, we called it a day.  went shopping, hung out, talked story, and had lots of laughs.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-18-at-1.11.58-PM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-03-18 at 1.11.58 PM\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65650\" \/><br \/>\ni still can&#8217;t believe this man is 67 years old.  it totally freaks me out to think i&#8217;m having him go on such big waves.  but Asayama-san just loves it.  after the first shocking day in hawaii, he wanted to go back to japan.  today i asked him again &#8220;do you want to go back to japan?&#8221;  he said &#8220;NO!&#8221;  haha.  i think he&#8217;s enjoying the hawaiian surfers lifestyle.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-02-29-at-2.37.18-PM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-02-29 at 2.37.18 PM\" width=\"640\" height=\"358\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65656\" \/><br \/>\ncheck out my secret turtle cleaning station.  the turtles just hang out and let the fish clean them up.  it&#8217;s pretty cool watching this.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-02-29-at-2.39.21-PM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-02-29 at 2.39.21 PM\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65654\" \/><br \/>\ni&#8217;d say this is only about 6 meters deep so if you can dive down, you can watch this front row like how i always do.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-02-29-at-2.39.08-PM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-02-29 at 2.39.08 PM\" width=\"640\" height=\"357\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65653\" \/><br \/>\nwould you spear these delicious koles off the turtles back?
