{"id":65943,"date":"2016-03-28T05:24:46","date_gmt":"2016-03-27T20:24:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=65943"},"modified":"2016-03-28T05:24:46","modified_gmt":"2016-03-27T20:24:46","slug":"no-surf-only-dive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=65943","title":{"rendered":"No Surf, Only Dive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>i was supposed to pick up Asayama-san up at 2pm yesterday afternoon.  i get a call at 1pm and he tells me he&#8217;d rather go diving.  haha.  i say &#8220;of course!&#8221;  that ended up being a good decision because after 10 days of surfing, i&#8217;m sure he needed to rest.  and the best way to rest is to free dive!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-27-at-1.56.02-PM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-03-27 at 1.56.02 PM\" width=\"640\" height=\"362\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65941\" \/><br \/>\nwe dive 3 spots.  first stop was diving with 3 sharks and one turtle.  another first time experience for him.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-27-at-1.55.11-PM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-03-27 at 1.55.11 PM\" width=\"640\" height=\"366\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65940\" \/><br \/>\nsecond dive was another turtle spot.  i&#8217;m trying to teach Asayama-san how to make turtles curious.  if you swim towards them, they will swim away.  if you swim on the side of them, they will come in and say hi.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-27-at-1.54.20-PM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-03-27 at 1.54.20 PM\" width=\"640\" height=\"363\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65938\" \/><br \/>\njust watching him all afternoon going up and down was pretty cool.  it&#8217;s our 4th free diving session and i can see a big difference in confidence underwater.  that is huge!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-27-at-1.54.42-PM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-03-27 at 1.54.42 PM\" width=\"640\" height=\"359\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65939\" \/><br \/>\nand we have our underwater sign language.  i&#8217;m always diving down after Asayama-san to see if he is ok.  in this case, he&#8217;s ok.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-27-at-1.56.53-PM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-03-27 at 1.56.53 PM\" width=\"640\" height=\"358\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65942\" \/><br \/>\nit&#8217;s crazy how deeper and deeper Asayama-san is going on each dive.  wherever i anchor the boat, he dives to the bottom no matter what.  this time, it was 34&#8242; and pretty deep.  i didn&#8217;t think he would go down, and actually touch the bottom.  in fact, i couldn&#8217;t believe it!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-27-at-1.57.10-PM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-03-27 at 1.57.10 PM\" width=\"640\" height=\"358\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65944\" \/><br \/>\nand coming up very slowly like you&#8217;re supposed to.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_7891-e1459058848696.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7891\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65935\" \/><br \/>\ni had one eye on Asayama-san, and one eye on the fish.  and when i seen something delicious, i&#8217;d go down and spear it.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_7888.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7888\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65934\" \/><br \/>\nthe one on the left for sashimi, the one on the right for the steamer.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_7912.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7912\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65936\" \/><br \/>\ni love eating this fish.  the best sashimi!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_7914.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7914\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"align none size-full wp-image-65937\" \/><br \/>\nso i get home and fillet the fish.  now going to let it sit in the refrigerator for a day and eat it sashimi style!
