{"id":67461,"date":"2016-05-15T15:23:31","date_gmt":"2016-05-15T06:23:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=67461"},"modified":"2016-05-15T15:23:31","modified_gmt":"2016-05-15T06:23:31","slug":"grandpa-and-grandson-moment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=67461","title":{"rendered":"Grandpa and Grandson Moment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>today was my first day off in a very long time.  the last place i wanted to be was in the ocean because i&#8217;m just way to sunburnt.  but when you have your cute grand nephew wanting to go surfing, it&#8217;s impossible to say no.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Screen-Shot-2016-05-15-at-8.49.03-AM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-05-15 at 8.49.03 AM\" width=\"640\" height=\"354\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-67462\" \/><br \/>\nNoah is 8 years old and has finally built up his confidence to surf by himself.  this kid just loves the ocean and loves the challenge.  he wasn&#8217;t like this last year, it just happened.  so yes, i was very proud of him being so brave to challenge himself.  look at his face!  haha.  so much determination.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Screen-Shot-2016-05-15-at-8.49.13-AM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-05-15 at 8.49.13 AM\" width=\"640\" height=\"354\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-67466\" \/><br \/>\nand he surfed perfectly!  here&#8217;s a kid i never ever forced to surf.  i use to always offer to take him surfing and he would say no.  to me, that&#8217;s the proper way to have a kid love the ocean.  you can&#8217;t be forced to love it, you will eventually fall in love with it.  so now, this kid will never turn down a surf opportunity ever again.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Screen-Shot-2016-05-15-at-8.47.17-AM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-05-15 at 8.47.17 AM\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-67464\" \/><br \/>\nand i always kept Seth&#8217;s old wetsuit to inspire kids to go into the water.  so when i told Noah, &#8220;hey, this is your cousin Seth&#8217;s wetsuit.&#8221;  his face lit up and he didn&#8217;t want to take it off after.  haha.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Screen-Shot-2016-05-15-at-8.47.38-AM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-05-15 at 8.47.38 AM\" width=\"640\" height=\"388\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-67465\" \/><br \/>\nnobody ever forced me to love the ocean.  i just fell in love with it.  and now, we have another ocean lover in the family!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Screen-Shot-2016-05-15-at-8.47.55-AM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-05-15 at 8.47.55 AM\" width=\"640\" height=\"362\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-67467\" \/><br \/>\ni was riding on the side of Noah just laughing to myself.  can you imagine being only 8 years old and experiencing something like this?  maybe that&#8217;s why i never liked disneyland?  why would you when you have the most exciting attraction park in the ocean!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Screen-Shot-2016-05-15-at-8.50.25-AM.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-05-15 at 8.50.25 AM\" width=\"640\" height=\"358\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-67468\" \/><br \/>\nthen my brother swam out and did some tandem with Noah.
