{"id":71581,"date":"2016-09-22T14:31:24","date_gmt":"2016-09-22T05:31:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=71581"},"modified":"2016-09-22T14:31:24","modified_gmt":"2016-09-22T05:31:24","slug":"big-lucky-wednesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=71581","title":{"rendered":"Big Lucky Wednesday!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>i picked up Nakagami-san and Kanazawa-san up early this morning.  i knew the waves were going to be big, but i also knew they were both capable of survival.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Screen-Shot-2016-09-22-at-1.21.23-PM.jpg\" alt=\"screen-shot-2016-09-22-at-1-21-23-pm\" width=\"640\" height=\"362\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-71584\" \/><br \/>\nNakagami-san was very nervous in the beginning.  he&#8217;s staying right in front at the prince hotel so he knows how big the waves were.  when we were paddling out, he wouldn&#8217;t even talk to me.  haha.  but once he caught a few waves, the nerves settled.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Screen-Shot-2016-09-22-at-1.25.21-PM.jpg\" alt=\"screen-shot-2016-09-22-at-1-25-21-pm\" width=\"640\" height=\"444\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-71595\" \/><br \/>\nKanazawa-san caught some super good ones.  the medium open rights and surfing it really good.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Screen-Shot-2016-09-22-at-1.28.21-PM.jpg\" alt=\"screen-shot-2016-09-22-at-1-28-21-pm\" width=\"640\" height=\"420\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-71583\" \/><br \/>\nthen the waves started to get bigger and bigger!  solid overhead and powerful.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Screen-Shot-2016-09-22-at-1.30.00-PM.jpg\" alt=\"screen-shot-2016-09-22-at-1-30-00-pm\" width=\"640\" height=\"366\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-71582\" \/><br \/>\nso i told Nakagami-san, &#8220;ok, it&#8217;s time to practice not being nervous.  and the only way is to charge big waves!  so don&#8217;t go on anything unless it&#8217;s over your head.&#8221;  and when you have a loud guy like me yelling in your ear &#8220;GO, GO, GO!!!!&#8221;  you will go.  haha.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Screen-Shot-2016-09-22-at-1.23.44-PM.jpg\" alt=\"screen-shot-2016-09-22-at-1-23-44-pm\" width=\"640\" height=\"362\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-71588\" \/><br \/>\nand i was yelling in Kanazawa-san&#8217;s ear too.  i must have yelled &#8220;GO&#8221; about 400 times today!  haha.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Screen-Shot-2016-09-22-at-1.29.18-PM.jpg\" alt=\"screen-shot-2016-09-22-at-1-29-18-pm\" width=\"640\" height=\"397\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-71590\" \/><br \/>\nand when you charge big waves and survive, all the nerves will disappear.  Nakagami-san sure wasn&#8217;t smiling like this earlier in the morning.  haha.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Screen-Shot-2016-09-22-at-1.26.35-PM.jpg\" alt=\"screen-shot-2016-09-22-at-1-26-35-pm\" width=\"640\" height=\"358\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-71594\" \/><br \/>\nbeautiful waves and beautiful rides!  i&#8217;m sure this is probably one of the biggest waves in Nakagami-san&#8217;s life.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Screen-Shot-2016-09-22-at-1.24.48-PM.jpg\" alt=\"screen-shot-2016-09-22-at-1-24-48-pm\" width=\"640\" height=\"430\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-71586\" \/><br \/>\nKanazawa-san has a good surfing style.  and riding a 5&#8217;8 like this takes a lot of skill.  awesome bottom turn!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Screen-Shot-2016-09-22-at-1.32.20-PM.jpg\" alt=\"screen-shot-2016-09-22-at-1-32-20-pm\" width=\"640\" height=\"420\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-71592\" \/><br \/>\nand on our last wave, i saw Kanazawa-san bottom turn on a nice wave and so a super good backside off the lip!  he was stoked!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Screen-Shot-2016-09-22-at-1.29.33-PM.jpg\" alt=\"screen-shot-2016-09-22-at-1-29-33-pm\" width=\"640\" height=\"447\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-71598\" \/><br \/>\nwe laughed so much again today.  if you were at ala moana shopping center, you would have probably heard us laughing so loud.  haha.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Screen-Shot-2016-09-22-at-1.28.55-PM.jpg\" alt=\"screen-shot-2016-09-22-at-1-28-55-pm\" width=\"640\" height=\"361\" class=\"align none size-full wp-image-71597\" \/><br \/>\ngreat surfing and great paddling.  on Nakagami-san&#8217;s watch, he logged in 7km of paddling in our 2.5 hour session!
