\ni haven’t been to my ulua (GT) house for a while so i thought i’d better check to see what’s going on. i took my speargun with my brand new shaft on for a reason. the reason is because i didn’t want to shoot a big fish and bend my shaft. i actually just wanted to look in the house to see if they came back. i seen 3 big ones from the top swimming around. no way i was shooting one. i swim down on the side of the house, i lay there watching the 3 huge ulua’s swimming back and forth, then i spot a small on in the back. gosh, i wish i had my video camera! anyway, the small one came out to say hi. i lined my gun to the head and thought to myself that if i have the instant kill shot, i’ll take it. then my shaft won’t bend. 2 seconds later, i had the best shot you can ask for. i shoot, it dies, then it came back to life and took me for a ride in and out of the hole. i see my shaft bend right in front of my eyes and i was yelling under water “OH MY GOSH!” i fought the fish up, i threw it on the boat, and i was pissed. why? if i knew my shaft would bend, i would have shot the biggest one, which was 3 times bigger. now i have to spend $60 on a new shaft so i’m making sure i’m eating every piece of meat from it.
