{"id":78465,"date":"2017-04-26T05:42:26","date_gmt":"2017-04-25T20:42:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=78465"},"modified":"2017-04-26T05:42:26","modified_gmt":"2017-04-25T20:42:26","slug":"a-champion-smile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=78465","title":{"rendered":"A Champion Smile"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Screen-Shot-2017-04-25-at-11.00.33-AM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"410\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78466\" \/><\/p>\n<p>yesterday, World Champion Women&#8217;s surfer Carissa Moore was out practicing at Bowls.  so i told Asayama-san, &#8220;let&#8217;s go watch her surfing.  let&#8217;s just sit on the side and watch her rip up the waves.&#8221;  so we paddle out to Bowls and sit on the side watching carefully.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Screen-Shot-2017-04-25-at-10.57.41-AM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"363\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78469\" \/><\/p>\n<p>then i told Asayama-san, &#8220;ok, now it&#8217;s your turn.  paddle for the next wave!&#8221;  he looked at me &#8220;??????&#8221;  he thought i was joking.  look at his face.  haha.  but if i didn&#8217;t joke about surfing at Pipeline, why would i be joking now?  i yelled &#8220;GO!&#8221;  and by the looks at his face, he didn&#8217;t want to go.  haha.  but i yelled again and he went!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Screen-Shot-2017-04-25-at-10.57.59-AM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"363\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78472\" \/><\/p>\n<p>it was his first ever wave at Bowls!  he rode it all the way in and paddled back out so happy!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Screen-Shot-2017-04-25-at-11.00.04-AM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78474\" \/><\/p>\n<p>then he was relaxed as i told him &#8220;this is nothing compared to the other day at Pipeline.&#8221;  he agreed and the confident smile came back.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Screen-Shot-2017-04-25-at-10.58.58-AM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"358\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78470\" \/><\/p>\n<p>then Asayama-san caught more lefts at Bowls.  he was so happy to surf this premier left point wave!   after a few more, he was satisfied so we went back to the rights.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Screen-Shot-2017-04-25-at-11.01.45-AM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"359\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78468\" \/><\/p>\n<p>and caught more and more waves.
