 so that&#8217;s what i did.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/IMG_0517.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"146\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-80926\" \/><\/p>\n<p>surfed in the morning and went back to the ocean in the afternoon.  it was picture perfect!  thanks Nao-san for the beautiful photo.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Screen-Shot-2017-07-09-at-1.16.47-PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"722\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-80920\" \/><\/p>\n<p>it&#8217;s unbelievable how Nao-san became so confident so fast.  she paddles out by herself and rides every wave by herself.  she finally got to the level she was dreaming about.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Screen-Shot-2017-07-09-at-1.15.21-PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"719\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-80919\" \/><\/p>\n<p>i thought it would take longer, but she proved me wrong.  another person that is Asayama-san inspired.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Screen-Shot-2017-07-09-at-1.18.07-PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"717\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-80923\" \/><\/p>\n<p>i tell everybody that free diving is the best training for surfing.  once you can relax in the underwater world, the real world is a piece of cake.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Screen-Shot-2017-07-09-at-1.17.47-PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"717\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-80922\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Nao-san went to depths she&#8217;s never been before.  now her goal is to spear a fish.  haha.  sound familiar?<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Screen-Shot-2017-07-09-at-1.19.15-PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"719\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-80915\" \/><\/p>\n<p>another way to gain confidence is to swim under the waves.  so we went to Rock Piles and snorkeled under the thundering surf.  i love this place as it taught me how to be comfortable duck diving, and also taught me the dynamics of the oceans power.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Screen-Shot-2017-07-09-at-1.20.23-PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"714\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-80917\" \/><\/p>\n<p>i could tell Nao-san was freaking out in the beginning because this can be pretty scary for a first timer.  it&#8217;s kind of dark under there.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Screen-Shot-2017-07-09-at-1.20.43-PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"717\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-80918\" \/><\/p>\n<p>when she came up, she was so excited of what she just saw!  haha.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Screen-Shot-2017-07-09-at-1.17.32-PM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"849\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-80921\" \/><\/p>\n<p>i went to look for those big Ulua&#8217;s but didn&#8217;t see any around.  ended up spearing some sashimi anyway.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Screen-Shot-2017-07-09-at-12.49.10-AM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1678\" height=\"670\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-80927\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Jordy Smith won the contest in his backyard.  he&#8217;s lucky Joshua didn&#8217;t create the biggest upset in South Africa surfing.  it was that close!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/IMG_4716.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-80928\" \/><\/p>\n<p>thank you Kamikawai-san for the unagipie!
