{"id":90853,"date":"2018-05-27T05:11:34","date_gmt":"2018-05-26T20:11:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=90853"},"modified":"2018-05-27T05:11:34","modified_gmt":"2018-05-26T20:11:34","slug":"hnl-to-jpn-to-wqs-day-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/?p=90853","title":{"rendered":"HNL to JPN to WQS:  Day 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_4905.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-90840\" \/><\/p>\n<p>gosh, it feels like i left Hawaii weeks ago.  i had to be at the airport at 8am so i went for a surf at 5:30am, broke my board, cut my foot, and came in shortly after.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_4909.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-90842\" \/><\/p>\n<p>came home to grab my stuff, and headed to HNL.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_4906.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-90841\" \/><\/p>\n<p>seen a bus driver texting and driving at the same time.  this is how accidents happen&#8230;<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_4911.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-90845\" \/><\/p>\n<p>was glad to board my flight and head to the contest in Chiba.  i just gambled but the gamble paid off as Seth won his quarter final heat while i was up in the air.  i kind of knew he would.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_4917.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-90843\" \/><\/p>\n<p>got to NRT, Naoka picked me up, then we went straight to see the boys.  this is Team Hawaii and i was so happy to see all of them.  i want to thank the Inaba-san Family for taking good care of the boys.  i really appreciate your kindness.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_4921.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-90847\" \/><\/p>\n<p>had a few hours of light left so we went hunting for a wave to foil.  and guess what?
