 look in front!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6982.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-92885\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Alika last minute preparations for the race.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6965.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-92883\" \/><\/p>\n<p>it&#8217;s breathtaking from the ocean, and also from the land.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6993.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-92886\" \/><\/p>\n<p>i watched the full moon rise over the mountains.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6996.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-92887\" \/><\/p>\n<p>all night was so bright, i could see everything.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6999.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-92888\" \/><\/p>\n<p>so happy Isaiah joined me to be my boatman and spotter.  if it wasn&#8217;t for him, i could have lost Mao-san many times.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_7025-e1532928836673.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"481\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-92892\" \/><\/p>\n<p>yup, Team 77!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_7008.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-92889\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tony Moniz been doing this for 11 straight years.  he doesn&#8217;t even train for this.  it&#8217;s like a walk in the park for him.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_7003.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-92890\" \/><\/p>\n<p>got to see so many different kinds of boats.  the coolest boat show ever!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_7028.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"481\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-92893\" \/><\/p>\n<p>all Isaiah and i talked about was &#8220;omg, i can&#8217;t believe Mao-san is doing this by herself.  i&#8217;m speechless.&#8221;  we were both so inspired!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_7015.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-92891\" \/><\/p>\n<p>not only is this race long, it&#8217;s dangerous.  yes, this is the very same channel Eddie Aikau lost his life.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_7030.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-92894\" \/><\/p>\n<p>when ever Mao-san would get thirsty, Isaiah would have to jump in the deep blue sea and give her a new water.  he did that twice and i don&#8217;t know anyone more scared of deep water than Isaiah.  haha.  he would give her the water with a smile, say &#8220;ganbatte,&#8221; and swim back to the boat freaking out.  haha.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_7045.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-92896\" \/><\/p>\n<p>the whole way, Isaiah and I were in the boat analyzing which course to take because of the winds and currents.  and everything we agreed on, Mao-san was already doing it.  that&#8217;s how much ocean knowledge this girl has.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/go-naminori.com\/kirbyfukunaga\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_7048.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"481\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-92895\" \/><\/p>\n<p>this is a huge accomplishment in a water persons life.
