Daily Life in Hawaii….

went down to kewalo’s to check out the waves and boat stuck on the reef. things like this suck. imagine how damaged the reef is now?

i climbed on the boat because i heard there was 8000lbs of fresh maguro. i grabbed a 15lbs maguro and put it in my car….

then i came home and made the unrealist negitoro donburi. it don’t get any more fresh than this. oh my gosh!!!! oishi…..
**just joking about taking the maguro. i actually bought it fresh off the tuna boat that just came in. at one dollar a pound….
**anyway, i took some video of my awesome day here in hawaii. check it out….

Surfer Egan Inoue: Back in the Ring….

good morning. 7:30am. woke up a little late today due to a rough night at keiko’s sayonara party last night. had a blast with everybody. it’s so cool seeing everybody getting together for keiko. if you don’t know who keiko is, you probably never surfed bowls. keiko surfs bowls more than anybody else i know. she’s been living in hawaii for 7 years and is out there every single day. anyway, she’ going back to japan this week and she will surely be missed. have a safe trip back to japan keiko… and wish you the best of what’s ahead of you….. photos coming later…. oh, as for the waves, knee high at bowls. finally came down. 13 guys out and i bet none of those guys were at the party last night. i’ll try to make my way down to the beach a little later. still buzzing…

stopped by side street on the way home last night for a drinky. i ordered a jack/coke. that’s him on the left. i took my first sip and i could have blown fire out of my mouth. it was 9 parts jack and 1 part coke. no wonder i’m still buzzing….

wow, egan inoue is going back in the ring on may 16th. stoked to see him in such good shape from surfing. egan told me that he’s training for this fight by surfing everyday. he’s looking pretty solid and is probably a lot more flexible from doing all those off the lips. i hope he kicks the other guys ass…. check out his cover shot of the new mma hawaii magazine. for more information: CLICK HERE….

Ramen in Fujisawa….

good evening. went to jump in at bowls this morning for a quick surf but ended up surfing for 2 hours. the waves were going off and not too many people out when i got out. just jeannie, keiko, and a couple of the boys. got so many good waves that i couldn’t come in. now my sunburn is killing me, my lips feel like it’s going to peel off, and i got some rash under my trunks. ouch…

the big news today was the big fishing boat that ran onto the reef at kewalos. i ain’t going to say the captain is stupid or anything because the channel at kewalos is pretty narrow. and someday, i might run my boat onto the reef too. haha… but yeah, it sucks to see such a big boat on the reef smashing the coral. they tried to pull it off on high tide today but failed. heard there’s 8000lbs of fish still in the cooler so i might take my dive light and go night diving at kewalos tonight. haha… anyway, have a great aloha friday night….

i’m a ramen freak. when i first went to japan, i use to drive for hours and hours just to eat ramen. i even use to catch the train to yokohama to eat at the ramen museum. so ask me about ramen in shonan, i’ve pretty much tried everywhere. some good, some bad. if your looking for cheap good ramen, torachan is the place to go. this one is near shonan dai on route 246. i ate there 3x this time when i was in japan…

i always order the tonkotsu base with extra onions and nori. this cost $5.50. not bad yeah?

the basic ramen is only $3.50. what a deal…
**if you live in shonan and know a good ramen place, please let me know. if it’s less than 2 hours away, i will drive there to try it. and so will my friends. mahalo….
