good evening. what a beautiful day it was here in hawaii. i really felt like surfing today but know i can’t. should i wear my diving mask and try? why not right? but don’t want to push it. maybe next week when this patch comes off, i might give it a go. worked all morning on my computer making an ad for dove wetsuits. i’ll call it the one eye ad and if there is something wrong with it, sorry… but i’m starting to get use to using only one eye. i actually drove pretty good today. well, except for the motorcycle guy i almost hit turning left… i told you guys, i can’t see to the left…..
every time i pass by the zoo, i look for the giraffes. i trip out on how long their necks are. trippy animals yeah???
been getting a lot of emails about the okinawa article. thanks for reading it. and thanks for the comments. one of my friends in hawaii can’t believe this is okinawa. for me, i don’t care if people believe me or not. not my loss right???
when i was in bali, i tried this chilled avocado/coconut soup. it was kind of weird. good taste, but weird….

Dream Away: Surf 1st Okinawa Surf Trip…
good morning. 6:30am thursday morning. small waves all over today. ah… now i can relax and not think about surfing. got so many things to do today so stay off the road because i’m driving. have a nice day….
garut’s going to be on tv today across america. check him out on fuel tv’s the Daily Habit airing today, October 16, at 9:00 pm Eastern Time (6:00 pm Pacific Time) and telecast three additional times. good job garut. oh, can somebody tape it for me please???
ok, it’s out. the new surf1st magazine ran the main article of our past okinawa trip. 24 pages. a trip i will never forget. why? because i had to write the story. not asked too, told too. haha… it was a couple of days till the deadline when i got the call from kinsan saying “you write the story”. he asked me before but i said no because i was too dam busy having fun. so he gave me 2 days to write the story and i just figured i’d write it like a blog. i usually take a few weeks to write a big story like that but this one, i pretty much did in one day. and now that it’s out, i’m glad i did it…. why? because it was my true honest feeling about okinawa and the people. it’s called “Dream Away” and that’s pretty much what i do when i’m there….
surf1st editor akai-san called me and told me that it’s the best story he’s ever read in his editorial career. that makes me freakin happy. especially because i just whipped it out. i thought it was kind of half/ass but now after i read it again, i wrote everything from deep down inside. so half/ass or not, that’s my true feelings of okinawa and will always be. go grab a copy and check it out because that’s probably the last article i will ever write for a surf magazine. i’m just too busy “Dreaming Away”…..
**i got a couple extra copies so if any of you in hawaii want to check it out, i’ll let you borrow it. just drop me an email and i’ll hook up with you. mahalo…
Indonesia Fish Soup….
good evening. gosh, what a dangerous day. i had to run around town doing things and it wasn’t easy driving with one eye. i couldn’t see anything to the left and my judgement in parking was way off. try to cover one of your eyes and drive. i even had a hard time walking. i bought a costco hotdog today and when i tried to put the ketchup on it, i totally missed and got it all over my hand. one more week of this eye patch? ahhh….. and heard from a couple of people that had the same surgery done in japan and said that you can’t go in the water for 3 months. what? no freakin way…..
i can’t do anything. my doctor told me not to lift anything over 10lbs or not to bend down. that puts pressure on my eye and the stitches might break. i didn’t even know i had stitches in my eye. i can’t work out, can’t cook, can’t watch tv for too long, and after 10 minutes on my computer, i’m freakin dizzy. but you know what i did today? i looked for diving gear on craigslist.com. and found this hundred dollar 75′ riffe tag line for only $40. what a deal. i sent the guy an email, he called me, i met him at ala moana, and sold… i even got his phone number to hook up in the future for a dive. his name was les from kaneohe and was a super cool guy…. thanks for the deal les….
my brother is in fishing mode now. trolling and catching big fish is all he does. so when the fish comes home, i get out the knife and cut the sashimi up. this is a tuna….
everybody throws away the head and bones. not me. i made some indonesian style soup tonight for dinner. or should i call it “one eye soup”… haha… that’s a dumb one. good night….
and last, i’ve been shooting photos seriously for the past 2 years. when i see the photo chance, i’m on it. i have many visions of photos i really want to take, and this one was one of them. can you figure out where i took this? this is my new screen saver. give me the exact place and i’ll hook you up with a free go-naminori tshirt….
