Good morning 4:10am.
North shore 8-10′ and getting bigger this afternoon.
Ala Moana knee high.
Diamond Head waist high and offshore.
North winds at 10mph.
Sun, clouds, and cool.
Going to the sea.

We started off the new year with the first sunrise on January 1, 2026.  Been surfing everyday ever since.  Surfing around the island and getting really good waves.  This morning I paddled out to a secret spot on the North shore and it was so good.  Overhead and some of the best waves I had in a while.  I did 7 turns on a couple of waves!

Back to January 1.  Enjoying the first sunrise with very important people is the way to go.  One new year day we will never forget.  

My foil is really old so that I don’t have the feeling of flying anymore.  I know there is much advanced updated gear out there.  I just started to look so I expect to be flying like an F-14 fighter jet soon!

We visited some old school traditional places on our last trip to Japan.  This is the old Japan I fell in love with and this is the old Japan I will continue to explore.  

I still remember using these phones to call my friends.  And I still remember how frustrating it was when my finger slipped when dialing.  

This is Backdoor on a normal day.  Can you see me in this crowd?  If you know me, you know where I sit in every lineup so you will find me pretty quickly.
