Tahiti Pro: Keep Calm and WIN!

Seth was having a hard time on tour this year.  People have asked me why and I always thought that he wasn’t in the rhythm with the ocean.  Good waves wouldn’t come when he needed it, and his competitors always got better waves when they needed it.  It’s timing and sometimes the ocean doesn’t cooperate with you.  I’ve seen him struggle and knowing about how Mother Nature works, I knew his time will come, but I was wondering why it was taking so long.  Well, this week everything fell into place.  From Round 1,  Seth was connected with his surfboard, he was calm, and most importantly, Mother Nature provided.  Round by round, he took down the favorites including 2 world champions.  I was talking to Mike Ho this morning at Bowls and he told me if Seth can stay calm, he can do it.  So I watch the quarter finals and he was calm.  Semi finals and finals very calm.  He ended up winning the contest and because he was so calm, I don’t think he even knows what happened.  Haha.  Congratulations Seth Moniz for your first WSL victory!!!  You made our family proud, our friends proud, and Hawaii proud!   I actually cried watching you win.  Haha.

Thank you to all my friends around the world who called me and sent me text messages.  Thank you for supporting Seth since he was a little kid with big dreams.  You guys all can celebrate this big dream too!

I’m so emotionally tired that I didn’t upload the surfing photos from yesterday and today.  That will be coming soon.  Have a wonderful night!

FINALLY! HE DID IT!!!

2026 WSL Tahiti Pro CHAMPION!  Congratulations Seth Moniz!  You did it!!!!
