last nights party was last minute like always. but when things come together, it comes together. my sisters friend donated 40lbs. of fresh tuna. so it was sashimi and poke all night long.

i ate 3 full plates! and dessert after.

i see my sister putting salt and pepper on the ahi belly. OMG, i ask “what are you doing!!!” it’s a hawaiian thing to grill the ahi belly. well, in japan, the o’toro is the best part of the tuna and also the most expensive. a japanese chef would have a heart attack if he seen that. haha. i stopped my sister before she salted the last piece of toro and we ate it sashimi style. oishikatta!

and Seth got the cover of the NSSA catalog for the last contest his older brother Josh just won. i wonder if Josh got pissed when he seen Seth on the cover and that’s what pushed him to win? i wouldn’t doubt it.

kids are kids. all good kids no matter how good they surf. this is hawaii, this is aloha, and this is family.

had such a great day with Hayashi-san and Kyouhei-san. such cool surfers from saitama enjoying their first trip to hawaii.

and Hayashi-san perfect surfing! i was stoked to see her turn right and left all day long.

i was teaching Kyouhei-san how to turn and go up and down. i was super stoked to see him put the board on the rail so easily. a great surfer that’s only been surfing for 1 year. amazing!

then went to a party for my nephew Joshua who just came back from california. mens champion! so stoked for this kid!

always fun talking and hanging out with hawaii’s next generation of surfers. the boys are going on a boat trip next week and i’m sure the will all have fun! good luck boys!
