did you know there is a tonkatsu restaurant here in waikiki that is better than most places in japan? it’s called Ginza Bairin located on beachwalk. i go there about once a year when i’m craving for authentic japanese tonkatsu.

this plate costs $23 which is pretty expensive. but to tell you the truth, it’s worth it.

nowhere in hawaii will you find a better tonkatsu. and if you do know somewhere else, please let me know. they give you as much as rice and cabbage as you want. i usually eat 3 servings of each and walk out of there a very satisfied man. go check it out!

before i left to japan on my last trip, one of my chickens was injured. it seemed like one of her legs was broken so she couldn’t walk. for a week straight, i hand fed her food and water, carried her, protected her from the cats, and took care of her like i would my child. now, she is back to normal, happy, and laying me some fresh brown eggs. it makes me feel good that i took care of her and she didn’t die on me. good girl peanut!
