been seeing some cute mongooses running around at diamond head. for those of you who don’t know, mongooses were brought to hawaii back in 1883 to control the rats in the sugar cane fields. it didn’t go as planned and the mongooses multiplied and multiplied. then they started eating turtle eggs and birds instead. i think it’s mistake bringing these kind of species to hawaii because it just throws off the eco system. mongooses have no natural predators in hawaii so don’t expect them to be gone anytime soon.
my eyes have been getting bad from all this sun. can’t see at night so need these special glasses. and i still can’t see. haha.
i don’t care if i can’t see a small wine bottle label. as long as i can see where i’m going with my surfboard, that’s all that matters.
was super stoked to see Demetrias spear his first yellowfin tuna in panama. it was amazing seeing this monster fish swimming around in the deep blue sea.
there is a saying: when you catch your first tuna, you have to eat the heart for good luck.
i’m not sure if it is true, but Demetrias ate it anyway.
i think it would have tasted better with shoyu/wasabi. haha. good job on your first yellowfin Demetrias!
