My Life: In The Wind

IMG_6117
there is a song by TSOL that i use to listen over and over back in the late 1980’s. it’s called “IN THE WIND.” fast forward 30 years later and i’m “LIVING IN THE WIND!” many of my friends have told me throughout the years that i’m like the wind. i truly believe that “people think i’m crazy, i’m always on the run. if you want to ride with me, just close your eyes and dream. nothings going to stop me in the wind. i’ve got everything i need in the wind. no one’s gonna catch me in the wind!”
People think I’m crazy, I’m always on the run
That’s the way I like it baby, I’m your seventh son
I don’t want no promises, they’re broken in the end
See love is not forever, I know because I’ve been
In the wind
People think I’m crazy, I’m always on the run
If you take me halfway baby, I’m better off alone
I will never turn around, I’ll take it to the end
The wind it is forever, I know because I’ve been
In the wind
Nothing’s gonna stop me in the wind
No one’s gonna catch me in the wind
I’ve got everything I need in the wind
No one’s gonna catch me
Well if you want to ride with me, just close your eyes and dream
We can ride forever baby, the wind it calls your name
We will never turn around, we’ll take it to the end
The wind it is forever, I know because I’ve been
In the wind
Nothing’s gonna stop us in the wind
No one’s gonna catch us in the wind
We have got everything we need in the wind
No one’s gonna catch us
Take hold of my shoulder
Let me feel you in my arms
We can ride this wind forever
We can mend our broken hearts
In the wind
In the wind
Nothing’s gonna stop me in the wind
No one’s gonna catch me in the wind
I’ve got everything I need in the wind
No one’s gonna catch me

Cuba Day 2: Back to the Future REVERSE!

IMG_1627
imagine getting the chance to go back 60 years and see how it was to live? would you want to do it? well, you don’t have to imagine anymore, just come to Cuba. it’s so crazy weird that i can’t figure out where i am or what i’m doing here? right when i arrived, i felt like i went back into a reverse time capsule. it’s like the movie “Back to the Future” in reverse. everything so old style, and everything so simple. i kind of like it.
been eating food so cheap. been drinking beer so cheap. and been getting around so cheap. been enjoying the simple low cost of living here. i refuse to do the tourist stuff, i just sit in old restaurants and parks watching people walk by and go on with their daily lives. checked out some historical places where people like Fidel Castro and Ernest Hemingway often hung out at. pretty freaky to be in such a historical country.

the good part is Cuba is pretty much still untouched by America. the bad news is that won’t be for long. many decades ago, President John F. Kennedy enforced an embargo on Cuba. ever since then, America and Cuba was pretty much going through a political war. but just recently, President Obama just lifted the embargo. that means get ready for a huge change in Cuba. are the people ready for it? i don’t know. it’s a scary thought to see what will happen.

as i sit in my old rented apartment in an Old Havana beat up neighborhood at 4am, i’m trying to figure out what to do today. i’m in no rush, i have no plans, and i will just walk out my door and go with the Cuban flow. a totally opposite lifestyle i’ve been living. a few more days of this and i might not want to go back home. haha.
have to get a bus to get some wifi in another part of Havana. wifi just arrived recently but it’s expensive, slow, and very hard to find. hope you guys get this. have a wonderful day!
