Heavenly Kombucha
when i got to japan, the first thing i did was go to natural lawson and buy a kombucha. needed to cleanse my body. it was so good!
both flights back to hawaii were full. i missed the first one but got the second one. and lucky me got the best seat! omg, my body needed the rest after waiting 5.5 hours at the airport.
the best pillow and blanket too. slept the whole way home like usual.
stoked to get my new passport stamps started. a new passport to the endless destinations in the world. so exciting.
woke up and looked out the window. hawaii!!!
jumped on the yamaha and blasted full speed home!
if you don’t leave hawaii, you will never appreciate hawaii to the fullest. even though i love the world, this is my home and will be my home forever. just looking at the blue sky made me happy.
Whisky on the Rocks and Fire in the House
wow, it’s been a long time since i sat down and had a glass or two of fine whisky. was really looking forward to this! here is the Mr. Inaida-san collection.
flying out of a country is always the time i take to reflect on things. the flight over, and the flight back. was it satisfying? was it fun? was it different? was it memorable? was it exciting? a big YES to every thing.
split up with Carter in tokyo. glad he got back to hawaii safely. i’m sure his mind is full of awesome memories.
then back in concrete jungle. super cold!!! coming from a third world country to japan is always interesting. never gets boring.
back to last night. omg, have you ever taken a bite of something so good that you get chicken skin? i had chicken skin with every single bite. it was amazing!
and to start off with this? omg, the best of the best for sure.
and the Ohma o-toro is my favorite. it just melted in my mouth! this is pure art. this is pure japan.
then it was time for the best whisky of the best. Mayuki on the rocks!
i’m still learning about whisky. i learned the different in taste. i learned the difference in smokiness. i learned the different in years aged. and i learned that if you drink too much, you will have a massive hangover like how i do right now. haha.
i came back home and Inaida-san was getting the fire ready. always perfect to sit in front of the fireplace and feel the warmth.
then Yuki-san made me a jack/coke and that’s all i remember. but i woke up with a big smile on my face so i know it was an awesome night! thank you Inaida-san and Yuki-san always for your kindness. and thank you always for making me feel very welcomed in tokyo. see you again soon!
