i got up early this morning and tried to get as much done as possible. my motorcycle needed a new safety check ever since 9/15 and i’ve been way to busy to get it done. i don’t want to get stopped by a police so i thought i’d finally do it today. and guess what? i got stopped by a policeman on the way there. i told him “you won’t believe me, but i’m actually going to get my safety check right now.” he looked at me, thought “yeah right,” and let me go. so i get to the place near the airport, and waited my turn.
then the mechanic said “sorry, your fork is leaking so we can’t give you a safety check. and if you want us to fix it, it will cost $450 and will take all day.” i said “thank you but no thank you.” and left. what a bummer. if the same police sees me, he will think i’m a lier. shock.
then had to run around doing other things. it’s so fast and so efficient riding a motorcycle. the weird thing is, “i hardly ride it, but for some reason, there is always no gas???” the people borrowing it just have the perfect timing because whenever i ride it, the gas light goes on.
only $3.68 to fill her up. so cheap!
the lantern ceremony is getting bigger and bigger each year. pretty amazing sight.
and to see it get passed on from generations to generations. that’s so cool.
i always think about my Grandpa Osaki when watching this every year. i really miss him and his wisdom.
summer is here and i plan to spend a lot of time in the sunny ocean in hawaii. so, i bought myself a new hat today.
then went to pick up Rikita-san and headed out to the ocean. felt so good to be floating in the sea.
the weather was perfect, and the water was as clean as it gets.
Rikita-san and i did some diving and surfing. it was such an amazing afternoon. past my bedtime so finish up the story tomorrow morning. goodnight.

Motorcycle, Lantern, Surf, and Dive!
Surf, Poke, Shave Ice, and Malasadas
omg, had a super fun time yesterday afternoon with the 2 young ladies. here is Fumiko-san on her first wave of her life! can’t beat this smiling face!
then it was Chie-san’s turn. serious face as she paddles for her first wave.
once she stood up, the golden smile came out. pure stoke!
and here is Fumiko-san again on another good one. these girls did an amazing job!
hanging around older people, i feel young. and hanging around younger people, i feel even younger. these girls brought the little kid out of me. just laughing and laughing all afternoon.
after our surf, we went to eat afternoon brunch. started off with a poke bowl at Ono Seafood. then headed to Waiola shave ice for some sweets, then headed to Leonard’s for some malasadas.
i just love sitting back and watching everyones first expression. so exciting!
i was so happy the girls enjoyed all the food in the afternoon. i had no idea how it could fit in their tiny stomachs? haha.
then we went to diamond head for the million dollar view. i’m sure these girls relationship will grow ten fold after today. welcome to hawaii girls! great job surfing, and greater job eating all that food! haha. enjoy the rest of your vacation and hope to see you back in paradise.
i could sit here for hours and hours just watching and watching. the perfect way to end a perfect day!
