Asayama-san had a head to the airport this morning but wanted to surf before his flight. so we got out early, caught a few excellent waves, and it was off to the airport. look at this long left he caught this morning. so stoked!
physically and mentally much stronger than 3 weeks ago. now Asayama-san can paddle out by himself and catch waves by himself. that was our goal for this trip and it turned out perfectly.
thank you Asayama-san for a wonderful 3 weeks of surfing, diving, exploring, hiking, eating, and most of all, laughing! i’m going to miss you, and so are some of your new surfer friends. it was so cool hanging out with you everyday.
then went home to grab the kids. took them kids out to the ocean. diving, tubing, and cruising. it was so awesome!
i just watch as the kids explore around and try to exceed their limits. they are diving deeper and laughing louder. it’s so pleasant watching kids bond this way.
so i finally got to go get some dinner! i shot the kumu because i wanted to eat steamed fish. and i shot the papio because i wanted to eat fried fish. then one of the girls got seasick so i had to go back to the boat. kind of bummed because i was just getting started.
cleaned the papio and throwing it in the hot oil right now! itadakimasu!

A True Saitama Surfer
Secret Hawaiian Pineapple?
another day, another challenge. yesterday afternoon the waves were very challenging because of the winds. so compared to a normal off shore day, everything changed. and it takes a good surfer to figure it out. Asayama-san picking the clean ones!
and he likes to go left rather than right. haha. seen some super long rides yesterday! thank you Asayama-san for another great time in and out of the water.
went to make our custom pizza after our surf. gosh, i ate very well yesterday!
you can choose anything you want to put on top of your pizza. and of course i tell them to pretty much put everything. haha.
want to thank Chifumi-san for this sweet pineapple. it’s from waimanalo and will never come with the top on it. why? it’s so nobody can plant it and copy it. very smart company policy.
honey cream patented pineapple. only in hawaii. try it and you will love it. thank you Chifumi-san!
got a text from Masae-san the other day. so stoked they used my photo of Yumie-chan for an article in Mainchi.jp. i remember taking this photo like it was yesterday. waimea bay with the most perfect sandbar. good wave, good girl!
