we all knew outside Waikiki was going to be the best today. so i ask Nakahodo-san, “do you want to park at the Zoo, walk, and paddle out? it will take 40 minutes. or do you want to check out the beautiful Mayuki for the first time?” it wasn’t too hard to decide. haha. passing by John John Florence’s nice boat. my next dream boat! we check Bowls and it was looking pretty good. overhead and 30 guys out. umm, not a place you would want to take a boat out to. instead, we found a nice wave, got ready, and had the foiling time of our lives! Toda-san foiled with Nakahodo-san last year. now Toda-san is not only his teacher, he is also his new friend. so happy to see Nakahodo-san so calm and so cool. always looking forward and always smiling. in just a week, Toda-san got 10x better. this guy is addicted to the foil! Nakahodo-san must have caught 30 waves today. he was riding it so far in that i couldn’t find him most of the time. haha. went for lunch in Chinatown and a cool milk tea smoothie to cool us off. then we went back out and the waves were even bigger and better! there were only a few guys out? what’s going on? i’ve never surfed such good waves like this in Waikiki in my lifetime. Toda-san said the same thing. Nakahodo-san almost paddled into this nice set! last minute he pulled back because it was starting to barrel. good choice because there’s always tomorrow…except for a Japanese surfer out there that had absolutely no manners, we had a wonderful day! there is no way in the world would i let one person ruin our day in paradise! good job you guys!
