Seth, Takahashi-san, Joe, and i dove in Molokai and had a great adventure. so the day after we got back, Seth wanted to dive again. so we got more of the boys together and made it happen. stoked that Uncle Kyle and Joshua could join us this time. on the boat, we all look like Ninjas. haha. and in the water, we all look like shark bait. haha. Seth and Joshua are the best of brothers, and the best of friends. they are always together watching out for each other, and also challenging each other. i just love watching them connect… when Joshua and Seth were little kids, i took them out on my boat and told them “if you don’t dive down and get me sand, i’m not taking you home.” it was 40′ and they both did it. haha. that’s my way of teaching and i’m glad it worked because they guys are diving 60′ now very comfortably. Joshua on his way up for a breath. Seth is very competitive, but at the same time, very cool. i just love the way he approaches fish, and also life. it amazes me… Joe went diving with us in Molokai and now he’s hooked. he went to buy all new gear and was loving the blue water. so like every new diver, we made him in charge of chumming the water. this is called “paying your dues.” haha… i did a little of everything. speared fish, chummed the water, watched over the kids, and admired my new fins. omg, i love it! Seth was going so deep that i couldn’t even see him! he’s deep down there in another world… on our last dive, a big 10-12′ tiger shark took a swim by us. we all saw him and was in awe. he was big, ugly, and very intimidating. we all knew we were in his world. we continued diving but knew he was watching us… then, i take a dive and another tiger shark came to check us out. this one was a little smaller, more brilliant colors, more distinctive tiger stripes on his back, and much more aggressive. then it was time to exit the ocean. when 2 tigers come to check you out, you should leave the ocean immediately. we made memories of a lifetime. it was Seth’s and Joe’s first tiger shark sighting. and i’m not sure too many people can say they saw 2 big tiger sharks within an hour right off Waikiki. haha. makes you wonder how many more are out there huh?
