i had to go out to the East side so passed by my home point, Sandy Beach. it was so beautiful!!!
i was watching the waves and so bummed that i didn’t take my surfboard. only 4 guys out scoring!
then passed by Makapuu when something came into my mind. there were so many people outdoors enjoying nature. with the world wide panic about the coronavirus, the local people were just enjoying nature, and enjoying each other. it was so cool to see.
as i pulled over and watched the local surfers, something came to my mind. because of this panic, people are freaking out. no school, no work, and everywhere closing. tourists not coming or leaving the island is making Hawaii back to the place it once was. no traffic, less cars, empty streets in Waikiki, minor crowds at the shopping centers, and just less people in general. i had the feeling of Hawaii when i was a teenager and i kind of liked it. after this virus is gone, i think we should all rethink about our future. live simply, love each other, and enjoy nature. that’s the Aloha way i want back…
